Activity Overview

• 2 day hike in Washpool National Park, starting where the trail crosses the Gwyder Highway near Boundary Falls, finishing at Coachwood Picnic Area.
• We'll need parents to help with transport & car shuffling.
• Leaders will be hiking with the venturers.

• This will be a grade 4 hike, with the possibility of a little off track detour if they're going well.

Clothing & Equipment

• Share a tent
  Sleeping mat & sleeping bag (anything to keep you warm and dry in potentially 5 degree temps)
  Clothes
  Wear:
  •    Long pants
  •    Long sleeve shirt/top
  •    Jumper or puffer jacket
  •    Hat
  •    Socks
  •    Sturdy hiking shoes/joggers
  Spare:
  •    Long pants
  •    Long sleeve shirt/top
  •    Sleepwear (preferable thermals)
  •    1 x underwear (inc spare socks
  •    Extra light jumper in case it gets cold
  •    Beanie
  •    Wet weather gear

  Enough food for 3 days and a way to cook it
  Water filter/purification tabs
  2 x 1-1.5L water containers
  Torch/head lamp
  Matches/Lighter
  Knife
   first aid kit (inc 2 x snake bandages)
   toilet stuff, toiletries (e.d. toothbrush, deodorant)
  bowl, cup and spork 
  Compass
  Toilet stuff – paper & shovel

Travel Arrangements

• Parents may be needed to assist with transport to start finish & car shuffling
