Activity Overview
4 weeks of canoeing on the Bellingen River

Scouts will be learning about paddling on the Bellingen river with 2 man canoes. We will learn to read the river, learn strokes in the canoe and the direction they will take us. We will be swimming in PFD's and feel how they can save us on the river and we will be completing deepwater rescues.
Preparation
Scouts will spend 2 nights at the Scout hall to prep for these 4 weeks.
Clothing & Equipment
Scouts require the following;
Swimming clothes - including rash vest
hat
water bottle
river shoes (NB: Scouts without the correct footwear will need top sit out - Crocs or thongs are not suitable)
sunscreen
bug repellent
Towel
Travel Arrangements
Meet at the start point to Glydes Paddock 5:15pm - 1278 Waterfall way Bellingen (Please be aware that there is not much room and you may need to drop and then move your car again)
Pick up from the Scout hall at 7:30pm. NB: The scouts are required to ensure all life vests are hung up and will need to complete this before they can leave for the night.
